The Office of the Laurens County Administration is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the County Government and also administers to the various requests of the Laurens County Council. The Staff develops, implements and administers policies of the County, manages functions of County Departments and performs duties and functions relative to a wide range of County programs, in addition to those provided by the Home Rule Act. The Administrative Office ensures that County ordinances, resolutions, policy and procedure are faithfully executed accordingly and enforced. The Office of Administration, as well as the County Council, plays a major role in identifying and responding to citizen and community needs.
The County Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer for Laurens County and the administrative head for all County Government. The County Administrator and the County Clerk to Council are appointed by and work at the direction of the Laurens County Council towards the proper and efficient administration of the daily operations of the County.
The County Clerk to Council performs administrative duties while assisting the County Administrator in the various functions and activites of the County Administrative Office and County Council. The County Clerk to Council works under the direction of and is responsible to the County Administrator.
